Remember that Trip A is reset by the Toyota Mechanic to Reset the Maintenance Reminder. So I use Trip B and EV 2 for Fillup Data. I suggest everyone should too.
No, it isn't. I just had my 5k service done and Trip A was not reset. The maintenance reminder is reset using the "km/h MPH" button, not the Trip button.
I would leave a note on dashboard to be sure to tell TECHs not to reset any "TRIP" settings. I tend to use my TRIP A daily for my EV range and I reset it each day......I use trip B for my overall since i bought the car. I reset my TRIP 1 on the ratio meter each fuel up. ....I will leave trip 2 in ratio meter for life of car. I also write down my ODO miles and several other things each fillup now, and take pictures of each screen at fillups. LOL. Just incase something gets lost or reset accidentally! Dan
ryogajyc, My Trip A was reset to Zero. Also the Owner's Manual page 432 step 2 & 3 says the MPH/kmh button is held down until the trip meter A indicates 0000.
Dan, How do you get the Gas Fillup data? Miles per tank & Cons. MPG and all the EV display info? I use Trip B and EV 2 for the Gas Fillup Data. Trying to maintain any trip for Life of Car will be very hard to keep from getting reset.
That just means that someone reset your Trip A. No, it does not specifically mention Trip A. It says "Keep pressing the button until the trip meter indicates “000000” and the multi-information display indicates that the reset is complete." It just means the that 6 zeros will show up to indicate the maintenance reminder is reset; it does not mean Trip A is reset as a result. I think the strange wording is a holdover from when the trip meter was a dedicated digit display from the Gen 2s.
