So, my daily 7.4 mile (each way) trip to the post office is where I test my hypermiling skills. Usually, I have no problem getting the MPG up to the low 70s. Today, I was actually able to make the trip with the much-coveted 99.9 MPG! Huzzah and hooray! Was probably even higher than that, as it tripped to 99.9 while I was still a mile away from the post office and I took that last mile entirely in EV. Sweet. Gadzooks, I LOVE THIS CAR! Took a different route back to the office and was only able to pull 73 MPG. Heavy sigh. ;-)
Map it out and provide the exact elevation change then post the info in the GenIII Fuel Economy forum. We have a 99.9mpg thread there. Congrats!
I could map it out, but not sure how to do the elevation thing. I'll poke around the net a bit and see what I can come up with. But wouldn't it be inappropriate for a C owner to post in the GenIII forum?
You can do it on Google Earth. It's inappropriate for a c owner to stay secluded in the c forums and not venture out and learn from the owners of other models. Go check it out. You're welcome, in fact, you are encouraged to post in other sections.
I managed to pull 80.8 MPG on the 9.7 mile drive home. Impressive, to me, since it was heavy, stop-and-go, rush-hour traffic. I will check out Google Earth... but then you may have to PM me on how to get the info from there to here. I'm quite computer savvy, but not terribly forum savvy. I've always lurked more than participated, until this place!
Very envious. In a couple more years of savings ill be able to join you in the high MPG world. Great going on those figures!
