Only 514 miles and technical issues already?!! (Gas tank always reads empty)

what does it read when you are driving? and at the end of the day?

 

I know that on the Gen 2, if you never add more than 3 gallons, it never gets full.

 

Empty as in the last bar flashing?

A few years ago there were reports of sulfur contaminated fuel messing up cars' fuel level sending units. Where did you buy fuel?

 

Iwould go refill the tank completely and see what happens. $9 doesn't buy much fuel so you have have confused the tank.

 

Had a spanking new Honda minivan lo these many years ago. The tank would read full, go down to around 3/4 of a tank, then popped down to zero and stayed there.
Interestingly, the low fuel light wouldn't go on when it did this, but did go on when the gas tank really did become nearly empty.
Dealer said gas tank sender; I said it's in the dash. He was wrong, I was right, and they replaced the entire instrument cluster, odometer and all.

So: do not know if your problem's in the gas tank sender, the computer, or what: But hie ye on down to ye dealer and let them contend with it. That's what they're there for.
