more reasons to pick a base PIP: When i get a text on my phone i get a alert and the system reads the message to me (quite nice). There is then an option to reply with pre-defined messages. When i hit send i get "There was an error sending the message". Anyone get this to work? PK, you can download the free Android app for WAZE. It is supposed to cover major cities in the U.S., and I believe Detroit would qualify. Since I have mine muted for directions, it gives me the alerts over the phone speaker, even though the phone is connected to the car via Bluetooth. I also wear Bluetooth equipped hearing instruments, and depending on the order in which I turn things on in the car, I can get the WAZE alerts "direct to my ears." I have found that the routing by WAZE is excellent with regard to avoiding the slow spots, but it sometimes comes up short on the mapping at times. I like knowing where the cops are, along with road hazards, which members report. The best feature for me is the estimated travel times to my destination, usually shown for three available routes. It will update ETA's if traffic jams clear, etc. All in all, I would give them a strong B+.
Mine are Phonak, and I have Bluetooth for tv and iPod listening as well. Pretty amazing technology, at least to me. I have two iPods, one with BT and one without, the latter of which requires plugging in. Nothing to do with the base PiP, so my apologies for hijacking the thread.
Got the bluetooth for tv also, no body knows I'm watching baseball at 3 in da morn. oops, not on topic......sorry
