Haha no way! I was just reading his thread last night about the extended EV range battery pack. I didn't plug in for a week after I got the car. They told me it was plugged in but according to the dash, it had never been charged or driven in EV for ~300 miles before I got it. I read that it's not okay to leave it fully charged on the lot though. On a more related note (to this thread), I don't think I could have found a better deal without having the aforementioned Toyota incentive. It was the right color, priced $500 under invoice, and only needed a left rear window glass (scratched with razor blade) and console armrest (fabric separating at front). Both free to me to fix, of course. Now if I could only get the right LED festoon bulbs...I hate ordering things twice! lol
For lighting upgrades, replace the hi beam 9005 bulbs with 9011. Same socket same 65w draw and almost 75% more light. Just have to trim the top tab to fit the socket. Look up HIR halogen infrared reflector bulb.
Many thanks to Pennsylvania Prius Chat member and PiP purchaser "stacey" who previously reported PA incentives to the incentives thread. ...now if I could only get someone from MA to give me a summary of MA PiP incentives! Actually I'll take any state but today's call is MA.
My left rear window glass is scratched up with what looks to be a razor blade, too. I wonder if the dealers are getting them from Toyota like that.
I've made scratches like that in glass before...on purpose. The kind that can only be made by holding the blade perpendicular to the glass. They are deep and catch your fingernail. Lol
That's what I figured. My car was a spot and the dealer was closing, so I guess they were in a real hurry. The cuts are deep and very noticeable, so I'm going to tell them I want the window replaced.
Hopefully, I won't have a problem with the dealer. Mine looks like they took the sticker off with a rototiller.
Wow haha. On my armrest, the cloth came loose along the cupholder, and someone apparently tried to hold it back with staples. From a stapler. The kind you put through paper. Paper staples.
dealer in orange county CA offered me the general 1500 cash back + 1000 off msrp. and of course, 0% financing.
haha. in my work parking lot right now my deal was actually a tiny bit better, but that was through a friend. but not too much better considering the 0% financing through toyota. i was unable to get 0% lumped with my friends deal.
Any one confirm this? I am looking to do a fly-n-buy. I just talked to a dealer on the phone and they were saying I would get the 3500 off.
My personal experience says that it depends on the dealer. Some dealers will claim you need to be a resident. Those dealers obviously don't want your business, so tell them to take a hike and go elsewhere.
