The wife and I read the entire manual, and are pretty sure we're doing everything correctly. Yet, while we've left the charger plugged in for several hours, when we turn the car on it seems that the battery is still empty. It may have been the timer, and we just set it to charge right now... and when we turn the power button to on, it says the charge stopped due to connector operation. We're really confused... can anyone help? Step me thru what I should do to make sure this thing is charging properly... Thank you!!!
If you want to charge right now, just plug it in and it will start, and take about 2:40 minutes from a low battery to a complete charged. To use the timer function, push the time setting button, choose either the start or the end time setting. Give about three hours for a comlpete charge, set timer, plug-in car and it will start and complete the charge and then shut it self off, just unplug before you leave.
It does not seem to be working. The manual says you can check charge time, by turning the power button to on. When we do this, when it is supposed to be charging (such as after the set "On" time... the display says: "Charge Stopped due to charge connector operation" What does this mean? When my wife got home this morning and plugged it in (w/o setting the timer), it was plugged in for 3hours before I used it. When I turned on the car, the battery was still dead. So something is not working correctly. Simply plugging it in doesn't seem to be working correctly. :-(
I am not to good at explaning things. So also if you go up to the top of the forums page and click on the FAQ! heading right at the top and search a little bit you will find more info on charging and many other things also. Enjoy! your car!
When you plug it into the wall did you go thru the check to make sure brick was working properly and no ground faults went off for some reason. The yellow light is on. Then when you plug it in to the car it goes thru a hand shake and clicks and connects. I hope this helps. If it is working the little yellow light will be lite, next to where you plug it in on the car.
We figured it out! Yay! Basically, we didn't realize that it needed to be the ONLY thing plugged into the outlet that it's plugged into. an extension cord plugged into the outlet also. Woops. When we unplugged that from the outlet, it began charging! Thank goodness! Looks like we're gonna need to have an electrician come out and install a new dedicated outlet for our car! Anyways... thanks for trying to help! I'm just happy we figured it out! :-D
Great! Yep! it takes about 12 amps charging so if anything else on the line of any draw over that may be a problem. Glad that did it ! Enjoy!
