Hello Everyone: I have a Prius C One. I shut the car off and filled up the fuel tank. Then I started the car, and I have no idea why but I shut it off and then restarted it. The gas gauge did not register that I filled it up. It stayed at 160 miles, that was the reading it was on when I stopped for gas. Now I'm wondering how to correct it. Can anyone advise me. Thank You!
The Prius manual warns owners that topping off the tank may not register the additional gas right away. Having only traveled 160 miles, that's a small enough quantity to fit that situation. Just wait it out. Eventually it will self-correct. Next time, drive further before refilling... and welcome to the forum.
Thank you John, I will try that. I wonder if the mileage left to go, is what the car uses; or does it know if there is more gas in the tank than is registered on the miles left?
