An Accord hybrid. Not the Accord mild hybrid from 5 years ago, a full, 'two motor' hybrid. It's about time! I first heard about a Honda plug-in hybrid platform a couple years ago, and it's coming in the form of an Accord plug-in hybrid, on sale in NY and CA starting Jan15 next year. Turns out a non-plugin is coming out next year too, a full hybrid Accord sedan to compete with Fusion, Camry and all. 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid Photos and Info – News – Car and Driver 2014 Honda Accord Plug-In Hybrid First Drive --------- Honda has now announced that the Accord Hybrid will launch next summer and will be rated at 49 mpg in the city and 45 mpg on the highway. I hope there's more to come. They might as well ditch the IMA cars in a few years, bleak sales figures. Honda - late to the full hybrid party, but they're coming
Lol, well that and I do not like the interior design of Hondas out there right now, even the redesigned accord.
Accord is a pretty 'conventional' interior design. I could live with it, but I'll take a foot operated parking brake any day
Hm. I agree. Wouldn't feel great about being the first kid on the block to try one. And Paradox - I agree. I've currently got a 2009 Civic and feel it's the best design they've had period. The new ones look so boat-like to my mind.
Just sold my 1985 Civic CRX Si, the fuel-injected two-seater. It's all been downhill for Honda since then... (Not my photo, but exactly the same model)
I saw a 2013 Accord sedan in black that reminded me an awful lot of a BMW. They trimmed a little size and weight for the all new 2013 Accord. I like them. Lot of features in base LX model, backup camera, bluetooth, USB ports. LaneWatch (plug-in hybrid gets it) which uses small camera in rearview mirrors to show blind spot sounds good.
Not is terms of sales. Nov '12 US sales, Civic #3 and Accord #5 of all vehicles. Civic top selling sedan, behind F series , Silverado (whoop, there goes the gas). November 2012 Top 30 Best-Selling Vehicles In America - GOOD CAR BAD CAR
Those are features, I love features and gadgets, bite its the design I just don't like. Even the exterior of the new accord isn't anything special. But hey, that's me. You see a BMW in it so to each their own and there isn't one thing wrong with that.
But, it's that "isn't anything special" (you mean 4 door trunked sedan?) that seems to suck in most buyers (i.e. Civic, Accord, Camry, Fusion, Sonata, Malibu, Corolla) here in the states. It's the hybrid price that's a stickler for most though. btw, the I saw that '13 black Accord on the road from rear quarterpanel and just thought, wow that looks nice, like a BMW sedan. I think the '13 Accord looks better and leaner than the 8th gen.
