Welcome to the real world. -2°F on New Years. Fortunately, winter doesn't last too long. Block your grille. Check your tires. Think warm thoughts.
And I was grumbling that it was 29F this morning. Pfft. I saw frost and started freaking out. Then I thought of what Spiderman deals with every winter. lol
28F this morning for me (coldest since Jan last year). At these temps, I start understanding the beauty of the engine block heater(although I don't own one). For the good folks at 0F, I can only imagine how useful it must be (for fuel mileage and just being able to use the heater 3 minutes sooner.
After three winters up here I removed by Fuelly Icon because it just wasn't impressive anymore. Still, it is a lot than any other vehicle running around.
It's not meant to be impressive. It is informative! Just rename your car to Alaska Prius or something so people know where you live. You do well for such horrid conditions.
Yeah, today was a "look at the gauges and weep day" here... temps were a balmy 10 Fahrenheit this AM... and got to drive for the first time on ice without incident. Speaking of cold, thank Gawd I did not have the Penguin Plunge today... found out from my laughing coworkers that I made the front page of the local paper in print and in cyberland...shocking but a fun way to celebrate my freedom!
Spiderman - my son in LA was not happy to hear Alaska was warmer than LA that one day... could not resist sharing that tidbit with him and hearing him whine about how many layers he had on....
