Hello This is my first post. I have found a 90k prius 2004 package 2 (no nav) in very good condition single owner and has records of service. Tires changed 10k ago, oil more recent I drive average 500 miles a week for work Is there anything I need look for before purchase? What service would be coming up that I should know about? Is this a good deal? Thanks for any input I would greatly appreciate and glad to have found this forum.
has it had it's 90k maintenance? Mine cost me $626 (had to replace a drive belt) 95k maintenance cost $83
Well, the car is coming up on its 10th birthday. Other than the same things you would look for on any 10 yr old car (struts, wheel bearings, brakes, fluid loss, etc), the engine water pump seems to be a thing to check, the serpentine drive belt, transmission fluid change, coolant system (inverter and engine) flush and fill and 12V battery. Other than that, pretty much the standard stuff. As far as whether or not its a good deal, where is it located and how much do they want for it?
No, the Prius has no timing belt (uses a chain, no maintenance req'd), no alternator and no starter (just FYI). Desmond is referring to the serpentine belt.
If you're 04 has an aux jack, it will be in the center console (front right, I'm not sure if an 04 will have it). If it has a cassette player (assuming it works), buy a cassette adapter and plug into your iPhone's headphone jack.
AUX was not available until the 2006 model year. It is possible to ad an AUX jack by using an FM modulator.
