My girlfriend is from WI and we will be visiting her family in WI some winters. So that means I won't have to change my driving style too much then.. I mean quite honestly it is no camaro but I should be able to adjust quickly. I'm only a couple days away from my Prius! I'm supposed to receive it on the 5th! Maybe sooner maybe later.
The mileage difference isn't THAT huge. See Car and Driver: Mileage? No, it's Your Gallonage that Really Counts | PriusChat. Run some gallonage calculations w/some high and low mpg values to see what I'm talking about. The difference in "gallonage" over 100 miles by going from 50 to 42 mpg is smaller than going from 20 to 18.5 mpg. That said, if I didn't need the room of the Prius v wagon and the Camry Hybrid's trunk and interior were big enough, I'd go for that. I'd be willing to give up a few mpg for a lot better acceleration. See Fuel Economy vs. Performance | MPG vs. MPH - Consumer Reports and best Best & Worst Acceleration | Quickest Vehicles - Consumer Reports. I personally wouldn't pay for the solar roof.
I ordered mine last spring late March and it took until late April before it arrived. 30 days was a bit of waiting but well worth it. The real nutty days was knowing it arrived in Portland at the port and waiting for them to get the Plus kit installed and so forth. I was emailing my sales lady daily asking if she had updates on the arrival date What part of Wisconsin you heading to? Madison is a huge Prius town. You see them scattered all over the state but thick as flies in that town Mike
I have to admit I was impressed with the Prius in power mode. I didn't think that the car would be able to produce so much kick. I knew it wasn't that big of a difference but idk I really enjoyed the features on the Prius more than the Prius V. Knowing that I don't have to put my child in a hot car during the summer makes me feel a whole lot better. However, if you would have posted here before I signed I may have moved to the V. Just because of the size. Oh I can't wait! I'm looking forward to it almost as much as the birth of my child ;P (of course no comparison) We will be in Madison mostly. Sun prairie to be exact.
Learning to get the most out of a Prius doesn't take too much time. We drive a 2010 Prius to ski areas a couple of times each week on average and have managed 52 mpg with lots of ski gear and 2 aboard this Winter. Our trips average 50 to almost 100 miles one way, but it's all 45 to 60 mph on secondary type roads. It still amazes how efficient these cars can be.
Now the modding begins ! Lets get those wheel covers off to start ! I know you will enjoy your Prius like the rest of us here on this forum enjoy ours !
Not to get personal but the Girlfriend that is having you son. Are you going to get on one knee confess your feelings and ask for her hand?
I waited 17 years before I asked We are going to Hell to get married this summer. Hell, Michigan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Mike
Awesome. Congrats. So soon when someone says are you married? You can say yes, I went to Hell and Back. Congrats again. Sounds like your off to a great start.
As of right now I have no plans to ask her to marry me... I don't want a long engagement and if I ask now I know that's all we would have.. So I'm going to let this play out a couple years and see where our lives take us. I'm sure we will be getting married.
