I want to make my PIP run more than 10 miles on EV. Is there any after market battery I can install? Billy
I'm happy because I'm only 2.7 miles from work and even with the 9.0 miles of actual EV this winter it's plenty to get where I'm going.
the only guy who did a pis on his pip fell off the face of the earth. and the guy who is doing a pis on his c still hasn't finished a year later. and it's not cheap.
I don't think the pis is for c anyway. However, I don't think it is for PIP either. Also, the whole website does not mention their address worries me a little bit.
due dilegence. honestly, i wonder how they stay in business. now if toyota were to add a plug n play... that being said, SteveWlf is getting started with a new installation, and mjfrog has one. you might try pm ing them for opinions.
If the add-on pack was fairly easy to install, reliable, had a real warranty and was inexpensive enough to make it economically feasible- then many, many folks here at PC would have gone with this option. The lack of installs in the PC community speaks volumes....
I don't think we're going to see a battery add-on for the Plug-in Prius. There are fewer than 10,000 Plug-in Prius cars on the road. How can somebody engineer, test, and insure a design that could be profitable? From a business perspective, such an add-on makes no sense at all. There are plug-in add-ons for the Prius, since there are millions of them. But event that is a very small market.
