Actually looks like someone took a pocketknife to it. I saw the mark awhile ago, but thought it was dirt, grass, etc. so didn't bother. Looked at it today while cleaning the car. It's pretty deep like down to the metal. You don't see it in the pics, but there was a long strand of paint attached on the left side of the scratch.
that's a pretty odd place to key the car. looks pretty serious too. I would suggest touchup paint in this case. By the way, there is no metal in the bumper, it's simply plastic.
Yeah, doesn't look deliberate IMO but still inconsiderate like someone was leaning/resting something on your bumper etc.
That's good to know. I read on some forum that Moonglow touch up paint isn't actually white, but clear with sparkles. Guess I'll go to the dealership and ask about it.
Not sure if resting something on it would cause a deep scratch like that. I should have taken a pic with the long strand of paint intact that was standing upright. Looked like someone went from right to left with a knife or some other sharp object.
Perhaps some kid on the bike - incidentally... However I suffered lonnng scratch (front and rear doors all the way) on the left side - just in front of my house. Next day I parked opposite (came home from another direction) - lonnng scratch (front and rear door all the way) on the right side... to the metal. No idea who? why? And I have good relations with neighbours... it happened just because. As TC400 said - there any many a@@holes At least your nice "C" is white - use "Tipp-Ex" .. and be happy that you do not suffer of the cancer... or you are not born legless or in North Korea or Bangladesh. These are my secret recipes to enjoy the life - cheers!!
If it was someone trying to key your vehicle they didn't do a very good job. How big is it, also doesn't look too big. Maybe deep.... Truth is unwitnessed we will never know exactly what happened. Good Luck....hopefully the touch up paint route will work.
