April 22 is Earth Day

Besides owing a plug-in-hybrid vehicle..
Placed the seed order for our vegetable garden today
Worked five hours preparing the garden yesterday.
Planted a persimmon tree Saturday.

Happy Earth day. May we all be good stewards of what we have been given.

I'd celebrate but Earth Day is never a celebration about the earth it's an attack on man. April 22 is also Lenin's birthday. Lenin believed that America's government needed to undergo "Change" it's economy planned by the government and it's citizen's better controlled. Lenin used the power and force of government to accomplish his goal. Earth Day'ers through the use of their self-aggrandizemening concern for the environment as well as manipulation of our government are using the same tactics.

The 1st earth day was proclaimed on Feb. 22, 1970 when organizers defined it's purpose as a means to enhance the races existence and save us from intolerable deterioration and possible extinction! The threat in the 70's was a "New Ice Age" in the 80's men were "Tree Killers" and ub the 90's men were species annihilators! Now in the new millennium man is causing "Anthropogenic Global Warming" oceans will rise, crops will die and the ice caps melt! Even though for the last 15-20 years the "Earth" hasn't warmed and may have even cooled. This unsurprising turn of events forced the environmentalist to change the moniker "Global Warming" to "Climate Change" but they've refused to let go and still push a economically ruinous agenda. All the while doing little if anything for the environment unless you're referring to the environment of their back accounts, which like Al Gore's continues to grow bigger and bigger.

You all go celebrate, I guess the largest gatherings will be at the "National Mall" in Washington D.C. or in San Francisco where tons of CO2 will be pumped into the atmosphere getting folks there and garbage deposited in the parks in order for "Earth First" advocates to put on a public display of solidarity with "Gaia." This whole event drips of sarcasm and hypocrisy. Don't get me wrong I love the Earth and want to take care of it but this isn't the way to do it. I think I'll take a hike or maybe go fishing.

BTW: Did you know that the first written mention of stewardship and care over the earth occurred in the Bible?

 

Doesn't sounds like anyone is really "celebrating". Seems pretty evident that general public is much more conscious of our self and our impact we can have on mother Earth. Am I reading you wrong or do you sound disgruntled?

How are you getting to your hike?
What products do you fish with?

Point is there's always MORE we can do but how are we doing? I would think most of us on this forum, we're going in the better direction.

 

I get to the hike the same way most will get to the "Earth Day" celebrations staged all around the world.

Earth Day was organized by radicals not by those who are concerned about or love and want to celebrate the wonder and complexity of the Earth. As I pointed out it wasn't for celebrating anything it was to accumulate power and exercise control over people. I find little "good" in those ends.

No offence intended, and I'm glad that the day is marked in red on some calendars but I try to live “EC”....not "PC".
There are another 364.242days in the year that we can also strive to be better stewards of that which has been given us.
The churches are usually packed on Easter morning.
They gyms are usually packed the week after New Years.
