Misrepresenting to make a point JMD? Didn't say "invented" I said organized. Why when a accurate strong point is made in rebuttal do so many fall back on personal attacks, misrepresentations or lies as a come back. Accepting it says more about your character than a juvenile retort. I'm all for "Earth Day" as I said in my previous post. But when key note speakers are people like Richard Trumka the AFL-CIO President who encouraged striking United Mine Workers to "kick the shit or of mine employes resisting unionization or Hollywood director James Cameron who wanted to take those who had a different point of view on anthropogenic global warming out into the streets and shoot them then your "Earth Day" really isn't about Earth, now is it? It's more about power, control and yes ETC politics. Nice bumper sticker JMD, is that on your Prius?
You homie. You took a calm Earthday post and turned it into a Lenin rant about controlling people. It is akin to the guy who takes his family to a 5 year old Birthday Party and picks a fight with the wife. You can talk smack about ecology all you want, but best to leave it alone on the holiday. Also your opinions are lacking any logic, Lenin and Ecology. Re Read your stuff. It is crazy. You sound like your out in left field, past the bleachers, and on another planet. Now leave Earth Day alone, and google self help or something else, and try talking about something you know.
LoL! My post, which is based in fact. is all about Earth Day it's origins and history. You just don't agree with my viewpoint so instead of engaging in an adult discussion you lower it to a juvenile rant then blame me for hijacking. Furthermore, if you think Earth Day is anything more than a power play, effort to control or a positional political play you know nothing about the Day, it's founders, it's history or anything else to do with it. Do you know what an adult discussion consists of JMD? Why don't you look back through some of the posts and answers the questions or reply with facts or evidence to some of the points made. Of course you could always continue with your juvenile tirade, name calling. personal attacks and/or after every point I make refute it by personally mocking me instead of addressing the point I made by raising well reasoned points to counter them. BTW: Posting images of bumper-stickers and twits especially those by celebrities are not well reasoned points, just thought you'd like to know.
Wow, going to stay out of the politics and just wish everyone a lovely Earth Day. Here, the Prius Team is celebrating by trying to sell more Prius Family vehicles! Best, Erica Gartsbeyn Prius Product Manager Toyota USA
If it wasn't for PriusChat, ED would have slipped right on by me. On the other hand Groundhog Day slipped by me as well. There is one really neat thing about both of them. They are events where buying something for someone is not blasted at you wherever you look. (e.g. You can ignore them without making some family member or relative irritated.)
I went to the Earth day fair at Balboa park in San Diego. I had fun, food and learned a few things. I viewed an electric Fiat which will be coming soon. The price will be about $32,ooo. With a federal tax credit that won't be too bad. They say the range will be about 114 miles. Had some good vegetarian food cooked by the Hare krishnas. I am not sympatico with their spiritual beliefs but they make great vegetarian food. They used to have a great vegetarian restaurant in North Park called Govindas. There were more booths at the fair than I could possibly see and lots of people enjoying the day.
Thanks for the link. They give a range of 87 whch is probably more accurate than what I was quoted. Sounds like Fiat has some good deals on it.
No commemorations in PC this year???? I think I remember one of my podcasts telling me it was the 50th Earth Day..... The day is already half way over with!!!!
