Meh.... Sometimes I like the absence of a spell checker. Helps reveal who is Stoopid and who is not so stupid. Or at least a smahter spellier..... I work with a lady whose job includes creating items in which the spelling is crucial she absolutely will misspell anything her spell check program misses. Sometimes I think our technological crutches have become too great.
^ Auto-correct in particular can lead to some humorous results. Hah, just misspelled "humorous", it underlined, I right-clicked the underlined and it offered clickable suggestions. Also just noticed: it seems to be auto correcting, sometimes. But then if I back up and purposely misspell it'll leave it wrong, with red squiggle underline. (Yup, just auto-corrected misspell in the above.) (Did it again: misspell , misspell. Wonderful, every time I use one "s" in misspell it fixes it ) Speaking of technology dumming us down (uh oh, it doesn't like dumming), our Garmin navigator is an item I know is dumming me down. Sometimes I just surrender to it's direction when I'm off the beaten track, and after a while I have no clue as to where I am. If the damn thing dies I'd be screwed, LOL.
speaking of garmins ... in the last month, half a dozen folks have been erroneously navigated down my driveway, much to their dismay. I am not particularly sympathetic, pulling them from their vehicles, collecting their ID, taking a photograph, and having them wait until the deputy or game warden arrives to escort them off the property.
