    Are you saying that people who drive SUVs are the types that like to ding Prius doors? Not that I disagree. Just saying.

    The OP used a photo of my car (the same as my avatar). In the 14 months I have had the car with that side moulding I have not had a single scratch on the side of the car and it spend lots of time in parking lots.
