I just picked up a 2011 Prius 4, and I am a total novice when it comes to the electronic package. I am sifting thru the pages and pages of instructions, and trying to figure out what I need, and what I can save for later! I am doing OK, but the main thing I do not really understand right now is the turn on procedure for the Nav etc. I turn on the Hybrid system first with foot on brake, no prob, then when I take my foot off the brake to turn on accessories etc. the top screen turns off when I press the power switch again, and I have to go thru the process once more to get the amber light on the power switch. Am I doing something wrong?
If I understand what you are trying to do, you only need to push the car power/start button one time. You are turning off the car when you push the button again. Pushing the button with foot on the brake turns the car fully on (like turning the key all the way in other cars). Pushing the button WITHOUT foot on the brake turns just the accessories on (like turning the key to the first click on other cars).
Ah! Now I have it... I was getting confused by the Quick Start guide that came in the car. It is a little ambiguous describing the procedure. Thanks!
