I have a C2 and love it, but the one thing that is driving me nuts is the fact that the audio source will switch from iPod back to CD whenever I restart the car. I listen to a lot of audiobooks on my iPod, so when I get to where I am going I shut the car off. When I go start the car again, it will switch to CD or another source if no CD is installed. This is not only annoying, but I have blown a speaker because of it. In order to hear the audiobooks, i have to put the volume around 40. When a CD comes on at 40, it is a bit loud. The real way to fix this problem is for the HU to have separate volume settings by source. My Honda Fit had that and I never had a problem there. I wanted to isntall new speakers, but now I am afraid to blow a better set of speakers.
Sorry to hear of your issue BUT I gotta say I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with this issue. When I filled in the new car survey Toyota emailed this was the ONLY issue I reported. I know it's a small thing in the big picture of life, but it sure is annoying.
I have the opposite issue. I regularly want to plug in my iPhone to charge, and every time I do, regardless of whether I'm listening to the radio or have audio off altogether, it will auto play any music stored on my phone. Especially crappy if I'm on a call, transfer it over to the car's speakers, and the have music suddenly start blaring over my conversation. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this type of iPod autoplay nonsense, either in the car or the iphone's settings? So far I haven't found anything My eternal gratitude to any suggestions!
i havent had that issue with the auto play iphone. i connect both my ipod and iphone and neither of them play by themselves. i always have to switch it to usb.
My C always starts on whatever I left it on. I would say it's just the Entune system of the 3 and 4, but it looks like type17volkswagen has a 3 as well, and his is doing the same as yours. Are you using bluetooth or the Aux port?
I have a C2 and am using the USB port with my iPod. So far I have had 1 speaker replaced under warranty. I am thinking, but the separate volume setting for each source isn't something that you typically find listed with a head unit.
