I have whined about this issue before.... In the past, if I tried to make a stupid post, before it was final, the wise and wonderful forum showed a number of posts that "might" match my post. This saved me from asking the same question that had already been asked and answered. With this wonderful feature, I grew fat. Lazy. I began to eat bon-bons while reclining in front of my television set and watching reruns of "The World Turns." And, the wonderful "feature" kept me from making a fool of myself and asking something that has been asked before. I have eschewed the bon-bons and "The World Turns" and have learned to search before posting. But, honestly, I would love to recline once again, licking chocolate from my fingertips....any chance of getting back that "pre-post check?" K.
Yeah, that feature was in the old software (vBulletin). I do miss it. Personally, I'd rather go back to the old software, as long as the performance could be kept snappy. But, I think we're unfortunately well past the point of no return.
It's worse than you thought. You posted a website question in one of the vehicle maintenance forums. I agree, it is/was a really nice feature.
Honestly, very few interesting or new questions have not been answered before, at least a couple of times. So change your mindset from 'I have to search' to 'PriusChat has my answer already..'
Is it just that the new software doesn't have that feature, or is that feature turned off to generate more web traffic/advertising dollars? Does anyone know the name of the person who has the most knowledge about the setting up of the new system? It'd be great to get details...
Tony, sorry --- I meant to post in the website questions section....but it was late, I was on my third glass of wine....Thanks for the move!!!
HELP! I'm resurrecting this old thread because the forum will not let me start a new thread. When I use the "start new topic" button, I get a form with the title already filled in - "Thread Title" or some such and I can't change it. I was able to create a new topic once before, but not now.
Nope, just the usual Firefox, and I was able to start one thread before. I tried logging out, clearing cache and all the usual stuff. Can't think of a single thing that changed here.
