100 A DC/DC Fuse blade replacement

    Hi all,
    did somebody replace the 100 A DC/DC fuse in Unit A in the Fuse Box of a Prius2?
    Yes, I placed the 12V battery polarity reversed, and I see clearly from above that it's blown. Now, it seems to be easily removed upwards, but it's sticked and I don't want to force it. I've read horrible stories about the prices of this replacement as it is too difficult to do at home. Did anybody manage to replace it, or is it absolutely unavoidable to take it to the toyota service?

    Another PC member had posted about how to remove and replace the fusible link assembly. I believe it is necessary to first remove the main relay/fuse box assembly in order to unbolt the fusible link from the bottom.

    When you consider how much current is handled by the fusible link, it is not likely that spring-loaded contacts would be adequate to handle the current flow. Hence the need to remove and unbolt the fusible link...

    Well. Here it is nicely described, how to remove the fusible link without removing the whole fuse box.

    Thanks for providing the link, it appears from those photos that there are at least four or five places where wires are bolted to the fusible link assembly. It also appears that the relay/fuse box has to be removed from the fender, to detach the bottom cover.

    If you determine an easier way to replace the fusible link assembly, please provide photos illustrating your approach.

    probably it was a mistake from my side, I understood from an other thread that the whole fuse box fender should be removed to unbolt this box, as it is bolted to the bottom side of the fender. Sorry, on fuse box I meant the whole fuse fender!

    Anyway, fingers crossed: this afternoon it will turn out, if I blew the DC/DC or not.
