I recently picked up an 05 that now has about 101k miles on it. When coming to a stop if I put my foot on the brake and hold a steady pressure the car increases the braking pressure drastically once its under 10mph and the car jekrs you forward unless you let off of the brake. I know its because its going from using the regen to using 100% disc pressure so what can I do to fix it? We had an 05 previously we bought new but had to sell a few years back with 65k on it and it didn't do this. Thanks!
The rotors may be rusty. I suggest you find a hill - put the car in neutral and then apply the brakes. If you do this it should help clean the rotors of the rust.

My '04 (with 115k miles) can be grippy at the 7mpg switch-over point. Like the others said, either roll down a hill in neutral or get up to a decent speed and shift into neutral. Apply the brakes until you come to a stop. Let us know if that helps.
No error codes but I live on a hill so I can heat them up good. I'll look at the rotors to see how they look, nothing specifically bad comes to mind but I've only glanced between the spokes thus far.
Do you live in the US or else ware. If you live in the US you have drum rear brakes if you live in almost any other country you have disc rear brakes. John (Britprius)
I live in the US and have drum brakes, you can feel that the pulse in braking is coming from the front though.
