Small cars, big tech: 2013 Prius C - TechBlog Overall positive review, had this boo-boo: "Typical of hybrids, the Prius C has two engines. One, a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, delivers 73 horsepower. The other, an electric motor, offers 60 horsepower."
Not a boo-boo as to general public perception, but the propeller heads here (obviously I'm not one of them) will always point out there are actually 2 electric motors in the Toyota system, MG1 and MG2, sometimes referred to by Toyota as a generator.
Yes, but it's not a drive motor. The parallel ICE and MG2 are the only DRIVE motors. Yes, MG1 is a motor and it's part of the hybrid system. The article isn't getting into the system design. It simply refers to the basic/obvious parts of the "DRIVE SYSTEMS" Most consumers wouldn't understand it, even if it covered the rest of the system. Why bother splitting hairs over something most people wouldn't or don't care to understand.
