After driving around 57MPH of commuting (30 miles each way) after deciding to test miles per tank... I finally broke 500 mile mark on a single tank!!! 502.6 to be exact! I filled up this morning 9.2 gallons which means I had 0.3 gallon left! You have NO idea how my co-workers who couldn't believe 502.6 miles EVEN on measly 9 1/2 gallon tank!!! Love this car as I've had this car for 14 months now! AM commute: 5AM, NEVER A/C PM commute: 4 to 6PM. ALWAYS A/C (low, 2 to 3 bar setting) Always windows closed 19 days between fill ups! I used to fill up every 8th day or so!
At around 452 miles, it went blinking but knowing I usually get around 50+ miles before it actually runs out...I took the risk but ended up having little more fuel left than I thought!
Congrats! I just got 525 mi on my first full tank. That came to 55 mpg that was calculated by hand. That is with a/c running about 90% of the time. About 90% city driving and 10% hwy.
WHOA! I'd wish to get that on my first tank!!! (mine was 452 miles but wasn't sure how full the dealer filled up but I filled up with 9.4 gallons). I drive 88% highways and 12% local on my daily commute! Great job on your FIRST tank!
This is fantastic. Thanks for the update. I took the car for extensive test drive on Saturday and managed to get 3.8L/100 km no problem. What a great compact this vehicle is.
I got 503 on my first tank it took 8.2 to fill it, I now have 260 on my next tank and still over 1/2 tank most of my driving is in town. short trips
love seeing these threads. I think I need to start paying attention to how many miles I get on a tank.
My best is 420 miles, I average 50 to 55 MPG, how are you getting 80 more miles? Fill up is around 8 plus gallons.
That's why... the car has 9.5 gallons of gas in it. When the light starts flashing and the indicator says 0 you still have ~1.5 gallons left. At your 50 mpgs you can go another 50 miles minimum.
Whereas in the Gen 2 once the light flashes you go straight to the petrol station for a fill! They are very impressive figures! I'm averaging 54 IMO mog / 45 us in my gen 2
No bladder on the Gen 2 here in Europe so no worries there. I would have to carry a "just in case" 5 litres if I let it run that low
