New user planning to buy a new PiP.
Around town we often have 230V with 6A limits for engine heating under winter season.
Anyone know a current limiter for the OEM charge Cable?
In my view it would be perfect if the PiP had this feature built-in, to be able to select max charge current. (I have seen after market charge cables where you can select 6, 10 and 16A.)

Also, regarding the charge cable. Why not a solution with a sort of cable reel in the car - just like on the vacuum cleaners. Pull out and plug. :)

Not a bad idea. Not sure why no one uses that approach. I'm sure there are good reasons though.

Thanks for the link. Interesting! Unfortunately charge current limitaion is not available on Toyota they say :(

"For the Nissan, Honda, and Mitsubishi branded upgrades; Yes, not only can it be adjusted, but it is a simple procedure you can do yourself. Unfortunately due to hardware limitations the Toyota-branded units do not support this feature. The output power can be adjusted in 1 amp increments which can be set to a minimum of 6 amps (SAE J1772 limitation) and the maximum is dependent on what voltage you have the unit connected to..."

Perhaps a charge current limiter can be built and plugged in as an adapter between charge plug and wall outlet. Need to check that out.

Wouldn't that cause the charger to stop charging if it wasn't getting the power it requested?

    No.
EVSE tells the car charger max current available during the "shake hands" and the charger complies if it is below its rating. The limit (I think) is 6A.
