Every time I start my 2013 Prius Three, the USB drive I have plugged into the console port starts playing no matter what I was listening to when I shut it off (FM or Sirius). According to the manual, the last source selected should play on start-up. Is there a way to not have the USB start playing every time or is there an issue with the head unit?
Yes, yes it does. The most useful solution I saw here on PC was to add a "song" titled AAAAA that was just two minutes of silence. This gave the driver time to switch the audio input away from USB before the music started. THE best solution would be for Toyota to provide an upgrade with this bug/feature fixed.
The latest Entune update (3.1.0) is reported to fix this problem when an iPhone is plugged in to the USB port, so it may also fix it with a USB stick. Entune update 3.1.0 | Page 3 | PriusChat
Funny thing about this issue. I replaced the original no-name brand 16gb flash drive with a PNY low profile 16 gb drive & now it works like it should.
We find this too. If I plug in my iPhone with USB to use Entune features it automatically starts playing music on my phone. It doesn't seem to matter if the radio was off or playing another source. This is very annoying. Is there a way to stop it?
I'm at the dealer now for the 5k mile service and they claim they have not heard of the Entune 3.1.0 update.
if U are comfortable doing it on your own.. here is the SW to SW 3.2.0 Entune 3.1.0 update how to/ download link - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums
Thank you! I have done the Ford MFT updates myself. I imagine that the Toyota update wouldn't be any harder. If the dealer is unable to do it then I'll do it myself.
