I've seen a bunch of DIY EV's - several aftermarket Gen II Pri - several Leafs - and one Rav4-EV that have added Brusa's, in order to more than double their 240v charge Isn't anyone up the the challenge with their stocker Prius? You wouldn't wana get 'er done in less than 1/2 the time? .

I already charge at home in 1.5hrs (EVSEupgrade @ 240v) so that's fast enough for me. From what little I know about recharging batteries- one of the keys to longevity is moderating battery temperature while charging/discharging. I'm not sure- but if we charge the PIP battery in 45min I'd think that's got to shorten it's life eventually- and certainly void the OEM warranty?
The cool thing with Brusa is that its rate of charge doesn't have to remain a constant ... it can be programmed to slow down as full capacity nears just like quick chargers do. The Best price I've seen is 1400 bucks .... which isn't too bad considering how complex the devices' capabilities are. Well ... somebody's got to be first ... and when it happens I sure hope they post the process. I'm thinking it's only a matter of time before folks with initiative start adding to their OEM pack size. Let's say you can add an additional 7kWh's w/out having to upgrade suspension ... that'd roughly add about 200lbs weight onto the rear suspension. Ok you'd sit a bit low in the rear of the car, but not as bad as having a couple 200lb passengers in the rear. At that junction, it'd certainly be nice to charge 2x as fast. Just noticed a Brusa seller on Ebay. Boy, am I ever tempted . . . . . .
I routinely haul 400+ pounds in the hatch and don't really notice any lowering of the rear of the car.
I am considering the addition of a extra battery pack from plug in supply. Spoke with them last week and they will come to your house for the installation. The packs are module so you can add on later. Thinking about buying a 10kw unit and switch between my car and my wife's on a monthly basis. Question about Brusa charger; would it replace factory charger or be in addition to?
agreed. also, if you go the pis route, due diligence, you will be thier beta, and they haven't even got the liftback figured out yet.

nah, the thing is, it's an ongoing experiment. if you're not a genius like peef, you at least have to be very capable, both electronically and mechanically. and then? it's still a lot of money, tinkering, diagnosing and replacing. it can be fun, if that's your idea of fun.
