Prius Engine Compartment Audio Recording

    Well I did this a few years ago to my old 84 MB 300SD, now that i have a prius and with curiosity i decided to strap a audio recorder in the engine compartment and drive it around the block in various mode and driving habits.

    Be sure you turn on annotation and set quality to 720p or 1080p for better audio quality

    oh yeah it was loud but it sounded soo good, nothing but pure mechanical sound..

    Cool and high quality sound, thanks for doing this. Is your Prius pre or post the recent inverter recall? The reason I ask, I had the recall done recently and a side effect is high pitched sound from inverter just before the ICE starts. I'm pretty sure it wasn't there before the recall. I didn't hear that in your recording.

    Post Recall, yeah that sound is MG1 turning the ICE to get it running, before recall it used to be quieter but now is just a little more prominent.

    i had an 85, it sounds better inside the ice compartment than the passenger!
