I can pay up to 11k cash. I am starting to realize I like the gen 3 prius A LOT more than gen 2. I am going to own this car for like 10 years, so down the line I might think: "man, I wish I paid a little more for the next generation of car. Anyone else deal with this? -When the 2015 comes out, will I see a bunch more 2010 and up prii on the market? - Should I save the money and get a gen 2 and suck it up? -If I were to be able to afford a gen 3 it would have to be 100k+ miles, thats still a baby toyota right? I got a feeling it will go 300 plus. Toyotas and priis are legit.
welcome to priuschat! i suspect idaho is not a carb state. if this is correct, you would only have 8 year 100,000 mile warranty on the hybrid components. you might get 300,000 miles, but you might also drop $2-5,000. along the way. it's a tough call, but if you're on board, you might as well get the gen III. all the best!
okay, that gives you 10 years/150,000 miles. don't get me wrong, these are great cars, but like any mechanical product, when they get older, things can happen. and on hybrids, they can be expensive. some might say the gen II has a better track record than gen III when it comes to high mileage, but i don't know if there is enough proof either way.
And when you get a new car, same thing will happen, you'll say "man, I wish I had waited a little longer for the next generation of car." All cars feel outdated at some point. People just have to live with it. You're deciding between a Gen II and a Gen III. If you really like the newer Gen III, then why not just go with it?
I found a 2010 prius ii for 11500. I am so pumped. I feel like I hear conflicting things about bluetooth though. Does it have any sort of recieve call option at all? What is a cheap option to install it? Been doing a lot of reading but I am wondering if there is a more recent option.
