So much emphasis around here is on how many EV miles or total miles we can get out of a tank, and for good reason. So my question somewhat hearkens back to those of us with good old fashioned pulse and glide desires. What is the most HV miles you've done on one tank? List of Personal Bests (in miles): markabele - 622 bisco - 621 PriusC_Commuter - 556 john1701a - 474
you can get this right off ken's spreadsheet. mine is 621, but do we have to get really stupid and run it out of gas in our competitive madness?
i used 9.2 gallons on that tank, never again! i usually fill up asap when it beeps, around 8 gallons.
I don't really know! Most of my driving is all EV Except when I take a trip to Minnesota. I put on about 450-500 miles then when I get home I drive in EV until I have to fill up again when I go to Minnesota again. So the cycle is complete boring!
No, I never have, it just seemed to intimidating to me. Old people syndrone I guess! It seemed to ask for more info than I had so I just started using fuelly.
I'm a wiz using spreadsheets. But I have to be honest, that thing is set up so badly that I can't imagine anyone wanting to use that thing. (that's why I don't, I use my own)
My best was 556 miles on 8.75 gallons. I usually try to extend how long I can go before fill-ups, but not to the point of risking running out of gas. While we're on this topic, I was wondering if anyone knows what happens when you run out of gas in a PiP. Does the car let you keep driving if you have EV range left? Or does the PiP just give up once gas runs out?
I've updated the first post to show a list of everyone's personal best. This will be a laid back list, no need to post pictures. We will take your word on it.
I'm really curious. In fact, I'm tempted to throw a 2-gallon can of gas in the car when it's on the last "pip" and drive until I run out.
curiosity can bbs dangerous, you may need more than a gas can if you run out. let us know how it goes!
Here's the HV miles each of my tanks (82 refills) over the past 2.4 years, sorted in descending order: 474, 458, 457, 454, 452, 452, 449, 448, 444, 442, 437, 436, 434, 432, 430, 425, 423, 418, 418, 416, 416, 412, 412, 406, 406, 406, 403, 403, 399, 399, 398, 393, 391, 391, 390, 388, 388, 387, 382, 380, 380, 378, 375, 375, 373, 371, 369, 368, 368, 368, 367, 366, 366, 362, 359, 357, 355, 354, 353, 351, 347, 345, 339, 337, 336, 332, 327, 326, 325, 324, 321, 318, 318, 311, 306, 306, 305, 301, 286, 279, 106, 106
For me, it amounts to how much I want to piss off the people behind me. The easier I am on the gas pedal on acceleration, the better the fuel economy I get.
Easier on the acceleration is not always the most efficient choice. In fact, more often than not, you're better off being brisk.
