Hey guys, in a few threads I've seen people talking about wiring their oem drls to the wiper motor. I'm not too experienced with wiring so I was wondering if anyone could help me out and elaborate? I've ordered Philips daylight 4 and it says to just wire it to the battery, but will that make it so the lights turn on anytime any battery function happens?
I guess I'm one of those people who posted on DRLs being fed from windshield WASHER motor circuit. This circuit is hot when the car is On so the lights will come on correspondingly. The circuit can be reached easily, as the wires are right by the washer fluid tank, you can trace them as they go to the motor on the tank. I don't remember which wire color is the one to use - I don't have the car next to me now. Stick the needle into the wire and then use the multimeter to find out if its + 12 volt relative to the body. To attach the lights I cut the wire and then soldered my lights via fuse and then insulated the splices with liquid electrical tape. Hope this helps. Alex
But hey! - That circuit only has power on it when you hit the "wash" button - the only time the washer motor needs to run. At least for me it's dead the whole time. Or is this a "ground switched" circuit? I didn't see power on it at any time. So I'm thinking back to the WIPER motor circuit.
At least in my 2005 it is a ground - controlled circuit, with +12 being present always when the car is in "Ready" and return wire being pulled to ground when the washer is turned on. - Alex
