What's up fellow priusians, I was wondering if any of you know where to get a Freon kit to charge our Prius AC for this summer? I kno it's a special kind but I don't know where to find one. Preferably, a ready to apply kit. Dealer is charging an arm and a leg for their "arctic blast" refrigerant charge, so if anyone can help that would be great! Enjoy the summer!
Harbor Freight is the least expensive place to get a good complete dual gauge manifold kit. 20% off coupons are available everywhere in news papers and magazines. Freon or R-134a cans are lest expensive at Big Lots or Ollies Discount outlet at about $6 a can.
Are you sure that this is the right type for my 2010 Prius? Can anyone else confirm please? I just don't want to ruin anything. Thanks again.
Just be sure that the refrigerant does not have any oil added, because the incorrect oil will damage your system.
Good tip. Use the full gauge set, not these quick add refrigerant kits sold at auto parts stores. Learn the proper service technique.
