Hi there. New to this forum. I LOVE my 2010 Prius. Today a weird light came on, on the Navigation screen. When we started the car it went thru the normal displays, Bluetooth connected, etc. then this screen popped up with an oil can and something said contact your dealer for service. I will try to upload a photo. Can anyone help me? Does this mean I shouldn't drive it? We change the oil regularly. In fact it was changed at the dealership last week.
welcome! i haven't seen that one, did you check the oil level? it could just be the maintenance reminder. how many miles on her? it comes on at 5,000 mile intervals.
This message is from the Maintenance menu from the Nav display. You can set these reminders either by miles or by date. I believe you get to this menu by going to Setup->Maintenance. This is just a reminder so should not come back again unless you set a future mileage or date. Just select the bar below not to display again. This message is independent of the one generated by the computer every 5000 miles.
I have no such feature on my 2013 Prius Two. It's nothing more than a maintenance flag, so if your system lets you set "reminders," that's probably it.
Thanks to everyone that replied. I do think it is just a reminder. Weird that it just came on now. We've had the car for just over a year.
The previous owner must have set the reminder and must have set it to the mileage or date that it displayed. There are a whole list of reminders that you can set. I checked and you can get to these reminders at Setup->Vehicle->Maintenance.
