Hi! My onboard GPS lost all of its stored points yesterday. I have no idea how that happened. The battery was not disconnected, the car did not discharge, nothing like that. I was accessing the map and I was about to push Home, when I noticed that it wasn't defined. Of course it had been defined, as was dozens of other points like the airport etc. What happened??? And how do I get my points back?
Sorry to hear that. I have seen mine reset itself while I was driving, for no apparent reason, but I didn't lose any data. There may be a way to back up the data on a USB drive, but I don't know which unit you have. I'm sure someone on here will have some more knowledge to share.
That's a good spot to mount a Garmin, keeps it out of the sun, and out of the way, but it's a bit too far away to be able to read easily. That's why I moved it to a spot on the dash, in front of the steering wheel. Unused Dash Space | PriusChat
Better get your glasses checked I need reading glasses to read a book on my Kindle but street names, etc., seem fine on the Garmin with no glasses.
