And if that is not dismal enough, since it has become clear that AGW is a credible threat about 25 years have passed. In that time the world has spewed into the air 2/3rds of the carbon allowance to have a chance of keeping the world under a 2C jump from a pre-industrial baseline.

Way to go, Republican clowns and denialists, et al.

No maybe about it, we all should be very clear that the drop in US emissions is from transfer of manufacturing to China for US consumption and NG fracking.

The China card is one big canard. Look at per capita GHG (from Michael Blujay's website) even *before* correcting for off-shore manufacturing.

The only way to get CO2 emissions down is to reduce CO2 emissions....everywhere. The only way this is going to happen is if the per capita CHG per chinese citizen goes down...or china decides to eliminate citizens. That is not a canard but dirt simple mathematics. What happens in China matters significant more than what happens in the US in the future decades.

As in: if the per capita GHG emission in China matches the Pigstyle of the US, the Earth is in big trouble.

    Yes, that is obviously true.

25 years CO2 has increased but global temperatures have been stable for THE PAST 18 YEARS.
No correlation between CO2 levels and Earths temperature mean your "Climate science" is a massive FAIL.

Accepting the validity of the concept of a global air temperature, and that our instrumental records tell what it is, is a great step forward that not all have yet made. Congratulations to those who have.

Up until 1998, strong El Nino years used to have the highest air temperatures. This is no longer the case. What other factors besides increased infrared trapping might have contributed to this obvious transition in the earth climate system?

Sorry, no comment on the thread topic. As far as I know nothing in this report extends our understanding beyond what IPCC had previously summarized.

But I'm sure all this is wrong because of some conspiracy or other to make scientists rich on government research grants. :)

Has the pH level of the Oceans been going up as a result of these CO2 increases?
