Hi all, If I understand correctly, 2010-2011 trim levels IV and V and 2012+ trim levels 3+came with footwell lighting. So those of us with trim 2 and some 3s get no footwell light love. Is it possible to retrofit the OEM footwell lighting? I'm sure that somebody must have done this by now, but I can't find a thread that proves it! All footwell lighting threads that I see are about aftermarket product installs or simply changing the stock amber LEDs to the Lexus white LEDs. I had a quick look at my passenger footwell tonight and no obvious extra wiring is there (but maybe I missed it). Am I correct that retrofitting will require tapping into some other wiring (dome light, glove box light, etc), or is there a "factory" way of doing this retrofit? Any info is appreciated.
Toyota Prius 2010+ (ZVW30) Interior Accessories :: Sigma Automotive 3rd row of the middle column. There's a footwell lighting accessory from Toyota Japan for the 2010+ Prius. The website above is U.S. based so customs is paid (original price is ¥16,200) I installed a set for my 2005 Prius and it's fairly simple (the instructions are in Japanese but the diagrams/pictures help).
The foot well light is identical to the glove box's light, it just clips right into the front lower kick panel, im not sure how the rears are but it should be similar to the ones the glove box and lower kick panel. Heres one $13.14 each item number 81260 (scroll down to the middle of the page and find a green highlighted box.) INTERIOR LAMP. Here's my DIY using non oem though but it should give you an idea of how to wire them. Led interior floor lights DIY | PriusChat
I have this footwell lighting on my 2010 but I have no idea what it's for. I know where the 2 pedals are located.
That's my preference also. Is there a reason why you chose to use aftermarket rather than the Lexus white LEDs, shown here: Footwell & Glovebox OEM LED Lighting Change | PriusChat Thanks again!
Alright, looks like I'll try retrofitting with the Lexus ones. I'm going to try making a harness from OEM components too.
