A couple months ago I said here, look out: gaso may go down to below $2 by Feb 2015.
There were a few doubters, but here we are apparently. Guess I under-estimated the speed of price reduction.

    (y) According to news reports there are only two states in the lower 48 that have gas above three dollars per gallon, New York and Connecticut.

Saw a movie called Veronica Guerin last week. Set in Ireland in the 1980s, it tells the story of an intrepid journalist and her fight against Dublin dope pushers. Anyway, one of the pushers' tactics was to give away free heroin and hypodermics to young children in order to hook them.

    Just sayin.

Good point ...just checking my Fuelly data we were down to $2 bucks/gal in Sept 2006 when we bought.
Of course the 2006 tax credit helped us to make the leap of faith. At the time Prius had wonderful owner reviews, but every issue of Consumer Reports said we were nut$ because we'd never make up the extra cost of the car. But I think it did pay off.

Who would have guessed that a hybrid database runs on expensive gasoline?

Let the good times roll! It's a good time to be in the SUV business though. Wait till they start adding 3rd shifts at the assembly plants.

Heck, I'll take the $20 fill ups! I love it.

Sure beats throwing $70 in the old Hemi!!

Yes it's nice to fill up, give them a twenty, and get change back.

$24 fill up yesterday. Not bad. The last time it was $33 and $35 before that. The $9 savings helped with the new $630 tires the day before. ;)

It was still $2.18 this morning.

I'll take it of course, but $2 gas is still too expensive to waste.
If I'm just using a car for a transportation appliance and not towing????

    I'll take a Volt or a G3, thanks!

Great time to have an SUV...Very bad time to own a diesel. Why is diesel fuel a dollar more per gallon than gas?

Yup how silly is that, diesel is less refined than gas yet costs so much more. Weird?

I remember growing up in Canada, diesel was always cheaper than gas and by quite a margin. Not sure if still that way or not.

    Nope, capitalism.
When we switch to ULSD, it meant refineries could now sell their diesel output abroad.
