Tonight, at my local Toyota Dealer I found a 2013 Prius Two with 40,000 miles (certified pre-owned) for $18,000. It was that dark gray color that I really like and was super clean. The car-fax was spotless, it is a 1 owner car. BUT I was disappointed it didnt have a back-up camera (it does have the touch-screen radio). Is this easy to add on? Also, I was unsure if it had SKS. There were no little buttons on the handles to lock the doors, like there is on my 2007. How can I tell? Is there no place to insert the key FOB like the Gen 2's, and do any levels of the Gen3 have automatic headlights?
Assuming it's a 2, yes it has SKS, Drivers door only, no backup cam. That is standard on the '15 model 2, and speaking of which, you can get a brand new 2 (at least in So. Cal) for 21k, so 18k is not such a good price especially with low gas prices, but if you like it.....
I am unaware that any Gen 3 in North America lacks a back-up camera, but I seem unable to confirm that. No, it won't be easy to add on. There are grooves on the door handles to lock the car. You just hold a discharged Fob near the power button. Like the Gen 2, the 2013 will have auto off headlights. By default they stay on 30 seconds after you open the doors, but they can be programed for 0 seconds like the Gen 2.
Gen 3 model 2's from 2010 to 2014 lack a factory backup camera, all Gen II's from 2006 thru 2009 had backup cameras.
