I have today off (Presidents Day/Govt job) so I wake up and go out to lunch. I was craving a Wendys salad and grilled chicken sandwich. I get my food, sit down, and some lady is crying hysterically. I mean crying like her Mom, Husband, Firstborn Child, and house full of cats just died. I went over to her table and said "Miss, Im sorry...whatever happened sounds like it must've been awful! Are you going to be ok?" And she promptly tells me "**** off!" and proceeds to continue balling. OK! Alrighty then! LOL. I went back and enjoyed my food and left. I then go to bring my new Gen3 in for window tinting, I had an appointment at noon. I get there and they are, of course, busy. The owner says that I look familiar, I should - Ive had him tint probably 5-6 of my vehicles over the years and asks if I need his porter to drive me home because its going to take a few hours. I oblige. Turns out, the porter had to leave to pick up parts and isnt expected back anytime soon so the owners hands me keys to HIS personal vehicle - a 2014 Ford F-250 King Ranch with a big diesel engine!! Hey, I had to get home to use the bathroom, who was I to say no? Heres the behemoth in my driveway: ...and how do people afford these things?!?! Obnoxious badge on the door: I found it funny the guy, who I never recollect meeting in my life, offers me up his - what $55000 pickup truck?! And trusts me to be nice to it. I'd NEVER do that. Anyways. Its been a really weird day for me!
Now, see if the bawling lady had been a little more civil she could have gotten a ride in a big pickup truck from you.
DAMN!! That is a beast… ….And they are in the mid to high 60k range for the King Ranches… Did you at least Hypermile it. lol
Call the owner of the truck, start by saying you are far away and the reception is not that good......."the truck ran out of gas and you accidentally put......and hang up.
That lady sounds like a sweet heart! Haha! Wow that's a nice truck, what do you think of the 6.7 diesel? Pretty quite for a diesel, eh? both my parents had big diesels for years, now we only have one, (we sold our 2009 f-350 6.4) a 2003 ford excursion 6.0 powerstoke diesel we bought it new in 2002. Not a Fan.. my mom was obsessed with it for years til we finally made her get something new. She drove it 200,000 miles. She still doesn't like riding in a prius. to her credit she likes the idea of a prius and she knows how good they are.
Or you can go back to Wendy's with the crying lady and call the owner of the truck and say, "Hey I'm the guy with your truck....pause and let him hear the lady cry.......then just say, sorry lady but are you alright.....then hang up.
Hope you didn't Roll Coal on any of our fellow Brother and Sister prius Owners!! These guys are out of control with the whole "Prius Repellant" stuff, but the first vid is pretty funny with the stereotyping…..
So I went into work which banks a holiday on a cold, wet, rainy day. Got every thing done early, w/o interruptions. So I left a little early and headed home via a local restaurant and bar. So I'll sleep good tonight and tomorrow be a day ahead. Bob Wilson
mine are all groundhog days since i sold my business. get up, make coffee and watch it snow, get up, make coffee and watch it snow, get up, make coffee and watch it snow... is that weird?
I didnt purposely try to hypermile the big truck, but I found myself doing it out of habit, lol. "You know you're a Prius driver when..." haha. I was coasting it big time (surprisingly with its mass and momentum, that thing had some insane (seemingly) non-existent rolling resistance!! I also found myself getting up to speed and then letting off the gas, lightly putting my foot back on it I seriously WAS going to call the tint shop and play some kind of joke of the owner like "Oh, I figured I would top off the gas tank for you letting me use your truck! Premium unleaded was only $2.29/gallon at Mobil too!! what a deal - it only took $20!" but I felt vulnerable seeing that he had my new-to-me Prius in his shop at I was at his mercy....lol I guess in my editorial of the whole situation, the Ford "king ranch" pickup with the big nice person diesel actually drove and accelerated very nicely. Diesel engines sure have come a long way. Errrr... except for the 12mpg average that the display was reporting
But how much of that 12mpg display was from unnecessary idling? Diesels have come a long way, but many still believe they can't handle being turned off and then on again during short errands. *shrug*
Serves you right for trying to be compassionate human being. You sound like a nice guy just trying to make the world a better place. Keep trying. Wish I could say karma would pay you back, but I don't believe in it.
Hmmmmm, Karma can be a bitch maybe that was her? In my experience whenever people react like that they's the one that caused it.
