Well, it seems that within a couple of hours after renewing the 3 year telematics subscription, Toyota sends me an email that says another user is using my VIN and is stopping my subscription and apps. Spent 2 hours today on the phone with a very helpful person at Toyota Customer Experience and did the following things: - uninstalled and reinstalled app on iphone - changed contract number on myentune.com acct info to reflect new contract # - drove vehicle for couple of miles and parked outside garage and re-tried apps - rebooted phone couple of times - signed up with different email address with my VIN Anyway, still no friendly emails from the charge completion gnome, no vehicle location, no data sent to the eco-dashboard and all my previous data is gone. We got the SOS connect to work, and there is a steady green light while vehicle is on. Helpful person at Toyota has sent copious notes to next level product support, who will be calling me in next couple of days. Anyone else on the advanced pip have problems renewing the telematics subscription?

I just paid for the Safety Connect renewal on the web site, and the expiration date got extended appropriately. No contract number change or anything. The telematics is still working fine and the Safety Connect light is green. What I don't understand is why my XM data services are still working, since they are also for a now-expired three year term. I renewed my XM radio service (that was only three months complimentary) but I decided to wait for the XM data apps to stop working before I renewed, but they are still working just fine a month later. I am not going to inquire why they still work.
When it comes to XM radio, their expiration dates are very unreliable. I remember purchasing my PiP in 2012 and it came with a 90 day trial subscription for XM Radio. Toyota included a 3 year period for the XM data service that was scheduled to end on 3-22-2015. Sirius XM never shutdown my radio service for the 3 years that the XM data service was valid. Fast forward to 3-22-2015, XM radio and XM data services expired and stopped working. It cost me $43 to reactivate all of the services for a 5 month period. I can't complaint since I go three years of free XM radio. It sucked because it expired three days before I was due to leave on road trip to New England via Canada. Since I can't use my mobile phone to stream music while in Canada, I relied on XM radio for music and traffic info.I renewed my Safety Connect subscription online and encountered no issues with the renewal process. I am considering a multi-year subscription for next year's renewal.
well, it's been a week and had one return phone call from Toyota, gone thru some troubleshooting, and telematics are still down. It seems to me that the file that holds my VIN and user info on Toyota servers may be corrupt and am trying to convince IT that this may be the case. Have made the request to write a new user file with my VIN and info. Hopefully SOMETHING will kick loose soon.
Problem rectified. Toyota IT did a complete reset of data and telematics and app functions have been restored. Thanks!
