And now the red death symbol that will not go away... The car however seems to drive without issue...
It is out of waranty.. It is showing no power going to te battery per the display and now only goin up to 37 .. And that is foot to the floor
You'll need to bring it somewhere that can identify the problem, the display doesn't give you all the details. It could be a number of things, not necessarily a battery problem. No warranty on the new battery?
^^ I think she means "new to her car." If she ever gets around to posting relevant information, I expect to hear that she bought some POS from a junkyard that was thrown into the car without any conditioning or testing. She posted in December asking for help, and then could not be bothered to respond to follow-up questions. I wish her luck, but I am not going to spend any time trying to help her.
Hi Letha, The computers in the car record a lot of information about what is and isn't right with the battery and the rest of the system, and there's basically no way to make useful judgments about what's going on without pulling that information. It would be nice if the car showed all that information on the dash display, but it doesn't, it only shows the silly red death symbol. That symbol tells you there is information in the computers to be scanned out, but somebody still has to do it. JC91006 mentioned you should take it somewhere to have that information read, but didn't mention that a lot of non-dealer places have code scanners that can't read the codes in your car, so those places will be a waste of your time (and might even fool you into thinking there are no codes). So it's generally your best bet to go to the Toyota dealer, or to get one of the "Mini VCI" gadgets you keep seeing people talk about on this forum, which can attach to a laptop and show you all the same information the dealer can get. Hope this helps, -Chap
