How to boost FM reception?

    Installed my new Pioneer HU and damn if its not worse in the FM reception dept then the stock radio. Any ideas on how to get better reception?

    Assuming the question is for a 2010 or 2011, the beige wire going to pin 8 on the 10 pin connector needs 12V to power the amplified antenna.

    Hmmmm. dont know if it is amplified, but I followed the Crutchfield instructions to the T, everything else seems to be working fine. The antenna jack went straight into the Pioneer, no adapter.

    My new to me 2012 PriusV gets TERRIBLE FM radio reception. Is the tiny shark fin the antenna? Toyota needs to be informed this antenna really is worthless. How to install a Good reception antenna

    The shark fin is not the iriginal Toyota antenna, which includes the amplifier too.
    Maybe the amplifier is missed in the replacement.
