I saw a few old threads asking about a replacement shell for the gen II fobs but didn't see anybody who has found one. Just in case there is none available, I found a silicone cover that might work in a pinch if anyone has the same problem. Found it on Ebay but haven't ordered one yet until I know a replacement shell isn't available. Do a search for Prius Fob cover.
I have a silicone key fob jacket. It's really nice and I like it, but I take it as protection for the case...not as a replacement or repair for the actual case.
I have ordered the silicone inserts and they are a perfect fit but the bottom button is for a trunk release-not panic button and has to be cut out. The replacement shell that is linked above also shows the same trunk release which gen2 Prius doesn't have.
The shell on ebay key does look like it would fit but I wonder if the trunk release button After comparing my key with the shell on ebay, it does look it would work, other than the trunk release and wrong type of key blank. I ordered one and will see how it goes. Will post back when I get it.
Well, I ordered the replacement case and the seller cancelled it and said it won't work on the US model. I think it was the trunk release button that he was referring to. So I ordered the silicone cover instead. The ones with the panic button were $16.00 each so I ordered the ones with the trunk release instead. Got 3 for $12.00 including shipping. They fit perfect and the trunk release didn't need to be cut out. They even have a nice Toyota emblem on the back.
I just ordered the case cover myself...got the same deal buy two get one free...I still need to replace my fobs as one has no buttons life to push...broken off the board, shocked it still works in the dash..these cover will keep the dirt out until I can find fobs under $40 bucks used.
On my 2006, one of the key fobs rubber connecting the lock button to the plastic case has warped to the point that it sticks up and I cannot insert the key into the slot on the car to operate the car. Tried to use super glue to hold it down but the rubber button has warped too far. Any links to a new plastic case? And has anyone done the internals transfer to a new plastic case? Thanks.
Just FYI If anyone needs the rear part of the key fob with spring tab, you can order it separate from the dealer. Part number 89751-47010 Price is $10-13

Looks like the seller is in Australia and currently sold out (but does have the 2 button one). I'll message him and let people know if any are available/if it works as a replacement.
Was able to to find the 3 button silicone by messaging the seller on Ebay (thanks TampaPrius). It is item # 201360675812, shipped fast but just waiting on delivery from AUS. Any help on removing the old buttons? They peeled out of one side, but seem attached below the plastic crossbars and I don't want to break the plastic while removing the buttons. Photo below.
