I'm Frozzie, a French guy that moved to Australia 10+ years ago. I've been watching this forum for a while but considering I will soon be the owner of a 2009 (2010 US model) Prius, I thought it was time to register. It's a basic White Prius but quite an upgrade from my Subaru Forester from 2001. I liked the subaru but the 12l/100km (19mpg if i got my math right) was becoming a growing issue. Plus my wife really likes the Prius design and overall engineering ... happy wife, happy life ! A bit of an old Prius but with only 19000 km (11800 miles), it's almost like getting a new car without the price tag (the car was used by nurses to visit elderly and aged care patients in the neighbourhood). Things I'm looking to do for the Prius in the near future (from easy to hard for me): - OBD Wifi adapter for some car monitoring - install a reverse camera or electromagnetic parking sensor I'll post some pictures as soon as I have it.
Congratz! In future all 2017 model year cars will have back camera standard. To be honest I've had this feature since 2011 in all my cars and I don't really use it...lol
Yes it's a Gen III 2009 model in Aus, 2010 in the US. There's only 2 trim level here : default and i-Tech. Default has no nav (therefore no camera), no sensors etc ... Picked it up this morning and got caught in Sydney traffic. That's the first time I was happy to be in a traffic jam !
A few days driving and I really like this car ! Handling is way better that what I was expecting. As promised a little picture ..
