Just picked up my new-ish ride last week. 2013 Prius II, Gen III. Got a good deal on it; it was a fleet vehicle; Hertz rental fleet. And yes I was hesitant but had it checked out from front to back at Toyota. Other than the usual 59,000 mile things; cabin filter, air filter, brake fluid flush and new brake fluid, injector cleaning, wheel alignment, etc. nothing out of the ordinary and runs GREAT! Oh and first and foremost that annoying backup beep taken care of Felt like I was driving a garbage truck! Put some new Michelin Energy Saver A/S tires on; good to go. Just a lot pic before I picked it up; I'll post up some updated ones soon.
Just once, I wish someone would admit to actually liking the back-up beep....like me.... Oh well...I'm on a back-up beep Island.
Well ONE beep is just fine. It's when it's set to what I guess is the default setting; constantly beeping when in reverse! lol That lasted for like a day until I could get it to the closest Toyota dealership. When I said that was the FIRST thing I wanted done, the tech just laughed. Thanks.
Welcome!! this is the tale of the castaways…yadda yadda… FWIW, I like the necessity of having the beep…could it be a less-annoying sound? possibly …and combine it with the "I forgot to put my seat belt on before I pulled out of the garage" fasten-seat-belt sound, it's high-low alternating tones *are* what's really annoying …but, because I am now conditioned to hear it, I am less apt to disable it, and WHOOPS, forget to take it out of reverse!
Congratz! and Welcome! I still need get my back up beeping disable. Waiting get to 5k for maintenance.
