The engine under cover had the oil door removed before I bought the car. Purchased used in 2012 (CPO). The cover hangs down in the middle now. The car was already past the mileage for the engine under cover TSB, and I didn't notice it during the 1 yr warranty - but I'm not convinced that the dealer would've done anything anyway. No one at the dealer ever mentioned it during oil changes, etc. I've read a variety of threads concerning this on this site. Is this warped enough to worry about?
I think it is fine really, I can't even really tell where you are talking about the sagging. I know mine looks a LOT worse then that... I catch the bottom covers all the time on all the back roads I drive on and it is torn to pieces.
That's what I wondered- the warped section hangs down about 1-2" below where I think it would be if the cover were complete. I also have a broken front spoiler. Should I replace it? The rear part is cracked where the recessed bolts are.
A lot of that just depends on what you tolerate. My prius is going on 120k miles so a few cosmetic problems aren't an issue for me. I have no plan to ever sell the car, so it doesn't matter as much. If you have a lot less miles or might want to sell it in the future, it might be worth it to get it fixed.
The missing "oil door" means the engine bay is gonna be a bit cooler, and grubbier. That's about it. If you look in the Repair Manual, it makes no mention of that flap: tells you to take the whole cover off. That's about the only way to preserve that oil flap, never use it.
