I had my headlights on last night and while I was driving through a few small tunnels my dashboard and Navigation lights went so dim....basically black.....I could barely see anything on them. What is this and how can I fix it?
What happens is when I drive through a short tunnel I the dash and navigation screen blacks out for a few seconds basically as I'm driving through the tunnel.
its normal for it to go into night mode if you go through a dark tunnel as the sensor senses that the light has change. As long as you can see the road on the navigation, then its normal. Unless you're talking about the screen turn completely black???
well, when it does, take a picture of a video and upload the problem. Maybe it'll be easier for us to figure the problem if someone has it as well.
What is your "dimmer" set to? The higher it is, the closer to "full on" the lights remain when it goes into night mode. I find the lowest setting to be pretty dark, and if you're having night vision issues, a short tunnel isn't time enough to adjust to the loss of light to get used to a very dim display. I get the same problem on my motorcycle (eye wise). The instruments don't have bright background lighting to start with, and it take several seconds in a tunnel for me to make sense of anything because my eyes are still adjusting.
What happens when you drive at night? How "bright" do you find it to be? Also, see what happens with your headlights on. I know there seems to be three settings. FULL ON - Headlights off (daytime) DIMMED - Headlights off (daytime) NIGHT DIMMED - Headlights on (nighttime) ??? - Headlights on (daytime)
