I got my tire changed from a hole in the wall place near the freeway like a dummy and ever since then my ABS light and (!) and my slip indicator light have been on . I have a feeling it has something to do with my sensor that is in the tire but I don't know for sure and everywhere I go wants to charge me at least 100 bucks just to look at it ! Has anyone had experience with this happening ? I would like to fix problem without spending 100 dollars just for a guy to look at it . Thanks !!
Well I am trying to avoid spending the money to have them hook up that scanner , everyone has been telling me 100 dollars or more . Is there a way to do it for free somewhere ?
They are different brands but the same size tire . ya I tried them but they don't do ABS light checks only check engine light
Any auto parts store with abs scan tool that connect to the obd under the dash.oreillys will do it for free. I had mine done the other day.
A broken tire pressure sensor should turn on only the TPMS light, not ABS and slip indicators. A broken wire on the wheel speed sensor might do those lights, in which case the shop that did the change should be responsible. Everyone else would charge to fix that shop's damage. You didn't answer the pressure question. Is the air pressure set correctly, and nearly the same as the others? As for tires being the same size, that doesn't ensure that they have the same RPM (revolutions per mile). Look up the specifications for the particular brands and models to see if there is a difference.
If you have a 2014 with less than 36000 miles, you would still be under the bumper to bumper warranty with Toyota. They will fix your issue for free
