I own my Prius V since 10-31-2009. As of 9-27-2010 I have driven 20000 miles... I am very happy driving a Blue ribbon Metallic Toyota Prius V with Nav....... I am very happy having a car without any problems..... My earlier post from 4/14/2010; After 10000 miles as of yesterday... (4/13/2010) I am very happy with my Prius V.... I am happy with my Dealer O'brien Toyota Scion on Shadeland Indianapolis... I am happy with their friendly salesmen, technicians and others... I am happy that I have not had any problems at all with my Prius... I am just happy that I choose a TOYOTA above anything else.
I am at 40,000 miles with zero issues. I feel bad for those that wasted money on an extended warranty. Toyota makes the most reliable cars in the world.
133k miles and very happy. I wouldn't sell it to get anything else. Maybe two exceptions.... PHV Prius and CT200h.
Re: I am Happy....... Again...... Again. (small collision... not so happy) Well... I am at 50000 miles now as of February 4... All of the above is still valid. At 51008 miles I had a small collision (3 mph) left side front bumper scratched, mounting points for the left headlight broken, left panel dented right above the headlight..... I was NOT happy.... Car will be ready tomorrow.... So I will be Happy.... oohhhhh something else... The rental I have gets 19 MPG.......
Well my Blue 2010 Prius made it to 125000 miles without any issues.... Until it was involved in a crash end of June this year.... total loss..... Just had new tires put on and was not allowed to take them off..... Bought a set of Weathertech floormats including the cargo mat... still have those. Due to circumstances I had to settle with a 2012 Ford Focus SE Hatchback.... It's Ok but sure miss the Prius. Anyway I am back because of the upcoming 2016 Prius..... I'll be here reading as much as I can about it...... This is it for now
we want to know how if happened. was is a light pole? why? and why ford focus. don't keep as hanging here.
Somehow it doesn't look quite totalled, to me. Maybe due to the year and miles? I guess: new hood, front fairing, bumper, AC condenser, radiators (engine and inverter), and likely more.
You could also consider this a golden opportunity to try out some radical mods to the front end: Carbon fiber hood. F1 front end replacement. LED light bar for headlights. Pop-up spoilers to create drag and avoid overcharging the HV battery on mountain downhill grades. Etc. (Haven't done that to a Prius, but did pull a totaled Volvo out of a junkyard with a logging chain, bent the front end roughly back into shape, and drove it another 100,000 miles, so it IS possible. Could not get front wheels aligned correctly, so had to accept penalty of increased front tire wear, but small price for an otherwise free car.)
Sorry... for late reply.... Yes it was an electric pole, it broke in half too.... Why Ford Focus; I desperately needed a car and I have a friend at a Ford dealer who was able to help me out. What I miss.... really it's the whole Prius.... Next car will definitely be a Prius
You kidding, it seems that insurance companies will total out a Prius if a headlight breaks. That, without a doubt, is a total insurance write off.
I hit a raccoon. I thought it might have mangled just the front bumper, but no. $2,500 later just for a bumper, radiator, grill, and a/c condenser. It adds up quick. About five years ago the insurance totaled a 99 grand am because it was going to need air bags. If air bags go off you have to replace seat belt tensioners and a lot of other stuff. Needless to say that was enough to total it.
