I see there are 3 interior color choices on the Four, and one is SofTex fabric. What is the difference between the fabric seats in the Four, and the fabric in the Two and Three? I want the beige interior, but would have liked the vinyl instead of fabric.
SoftTex is what people might call leather-like. And regular fabric seats are your standard fabric seats.
I realize that, but the choices are Black SofTex, Moonstone SofTex, and Harvest Beige Fabric SofTex. Fabric SofTex???
Softex is Softex (and a rose is a rose is rose). It is the plastic or "vinyl" alternative, though Toyota doesn't like people to call it that and it does not feel at all like the old generation vinyl (which may be why they refer to it as "Fabric"). I've had my softex for 3 years and think it's great. Easier to clean and has held up better than leather, even with dogs (even comparing to leather in a 2007 Camry). Does in fact have a leather like quality (though not as smooth), and I actually prefer it now. FYI, Toyota's factory leather can actually seem pretty plastic-feeling.
Weird, since of the three SofTex choices available with red exterior, that's the only one that mentions fabric. A moot point now, since I just ordered it earlier today. I just hope I like the interior when it arrives at the dealership. It a Four, red with beige interior. No other options.
I have the Moonstone SofTex fabric seats. I have only had the 2016 Prius three for less than two weeks but the seats feel like they will be very durable. I think they also look classy and feel good to sit in.
Might be a typo. All Tourings and Four models have SofTex (in one of the 3 available colours). Two, Two Eco and Three have cloth fabric upholstery.
That's a fabric seat in that picture. I got the same fabric, in Harvest Beige. There is no "Fabric SofTex".... You either get fabric material, or the SofTex fake leather/vinyl material. (which doesn't have those lines like you see in the photo.)
Thanks guys. I guess they consider SofTex a type of fabric. I'm sure I will like it. I'm hoping the accents will be nice in the straight Four. I suppose the Four Touring has a more sporty look though.
No. The "SofTex" is NOT considered a "type of fabric" material. Wherever you read that, it's wrong. SofTex is the fake leather. Fabric is just cloth. And I wish Toyota would have spent an extra 25 cents, and put some padding in my fabric center armrest. (Photo shows the SofTex fake leather "Moonstone" color seats. WHITE seats? Yikes! Maybe that's a very light Silver?)
I think you'll be happy with the SofTex seats. They feel nice (almost like leather, but smoother). I'm really happy with mine
I really like the soft tex seat in that color. As durability goes I cannot say. I own the vehicle only a month
